FOUR FUR A FIVER Documentary short on Glasgow's Paddy's Market and the traders' fight against the council's threat of closure.
The market was established by Irish immigrants c. 1850, and grew to become a Glasgow institution, with families trading here for generations. However, as part of the regeneration of the Briggait area, the council bid to take over the lease of the railway arches in Shipbank Lane.
Four Fur A Fiver was filmed in May 2008. Paddy's Market saw its last day of trade one year later.
The film was made as part of my final year degree in Visual Communication.
Four Fur A Fiver was screened as part of the shorts programme at Glasgow Film Festival 2009.
